The Lady of the House

The Lady of the House was the first of two paintings for this client, a gift for the new lady in his life at the time.

She is on the chaise longue in her red slip with a glass in her hand, the grand piano and the candelabra behind her, the champagne waiting on ice. Books, candles, red walls. Elegant, and completely at home.
