Keyboard Cocktails

An architecturally designed home in Woolloomooloo, Sydney, and three paintings made for it. The two largest are big canvases, each a metre by two and a half metres, made to be discovered in a particular order.

Satin Doll comes first, filling the length of the entrance hallway. A keyboard stretching away from you, with whisky on the rocks resting on it, as though inviting you to pick up a drink and wander on. A little humour here, hoping to leave guests wondering why anyone would hang a giant keyboard on their wall.

The answer is waiting in the lounge. Keyboard Cocktails sits high on the wall as the statement piece of the room, holding all the late night glamour of a neighbourhood built on piano bars.

The third piece was a portrait, painted for upstairs.
