Glastonbury Glampers

One of three paintings commissioned for a gallery in the United Kingdom, for them to sell and to release as their own limited edition series. Galleries usually take work on consignment, so to be commissioned and paid up front was unusual.

All three were in honour of large named events and places that Britain greatly values: the Glastonbury festival, the Formula One, and Ladies Day at Royal Ascot.

This one is Glastonbury, so it had to be gumboots. Every pair different, spotted and striped and flag topped, Hunter wellies the way they always are in that field. The girl in the middle is wearing the national flag itself. There is champagne of course, and the big letters standing behind them.
