Beauty in the Bush
I love this painting. I find it totally refreshing. This more abstract work was purposed to capture a rainforest billabong type feel, and to create an atmosphere of calm and of just being.
It was commissioned as one of 225 original paintings for the boutique hotel The Richardson, in West Perth, in 2005.
The Richardson Hotel and Spa was designed by the renowned British architect Sir Terry Farrell. The five-star boutique hotel quickly earned a reputation for elegance and exclusivity, welcoming international guests and well-known personalities.
These paintings were to capture the flora and the landscapes that Western Australia is known for.

Native Western Australian birds, one of the 225. The commission drew on the vast array of flora and fauna the state is known for, each piece made to carry that atmosphere into the room.
